Not To Scale

Simple game today cause I'm starting to feel lazy...
Not To Scale is a puzzle game, where you rearrange the pieces to form the proper picture.
The catch is that the pieces are in different sized.
When a bigger piece is shifted into a smaller space, the picture would be compressed, and vice versa.
The best way to understand would be to play it.

Very good game if you want to challenge yourself.

Record Tripping

Record Tripping is one of the more original games I've encountered, being the only game I've ever played which used the scroll wheel as its main method of controlling.
The left click is also used, but it is not needed in the game as much as the scroll.
In fact, it is sometimes forgotten that the click can be used.
It is a rhythm game (I suppose D:), with a narration of Alice in Wonderland in the background.
There are five parts to the game, three difficulties each.

Frankly I felt that this was a really short game.
Despite there having fifteen levels, I finished the game in minutes.
It isn't a difficult game at all, but I admit, I enjoyed this game because I had lots of fun playing around with the scroll.

I feel that the audio influenced the game experience a lot.
The soundtracks used were suitably used, and combined with the art, it created an eccentric yet enjoyable experience.
I shall also mention that the kitties in the last level were absolutely adorable~

To conclude, it's a very original game, which is a relaxing, fun trip.
I'd definitely enjoy more levels, though I somehow feel that such a length is just right.


Also, special mention to Sam, you've given me a couple of songs which are used in the game.
Juuuuuuuuust mentioning.

Sprout

Sprout is a cute point and click game, where you play as a plant, trying to travel from an island across the sea and vast land to a group of acorn trees.
Though to be exact, you play as a seed which has the strange ability to grow into any kind of other plant it comes across...

But anyway, this game is fairly simple and isn't difficult; if you don't select the correct option the first time, you can always try again.
The one difficult part is perhaps the part where you need to cross a desert.
It took me a lot of tries, until I finally managed to figure it out.
I wouldn't put that against the game, as I felt that the only thing that part challenges is your observation skills.

The overall game gave me a pure feel to it, like what you would get from a children's storybook.
I'd suppose that a large reason as to why would be because of the graphics style and the simple plot.
It is a really adorable game, and I would recommend it if you have some spare time and want to play something not stressful (until you reach the desert part, maybe).
Also, after the credits, stick around for a very short but cute bonus scene.

Alice is Dead

Thought I'd share some games with you.

Not going to post all the games at once, just one at a time...


Alice is Dead is a point and click puzzle/escape game (If you have no idea what that means uh you should play more computer games.) that has three parts, Alice is Dead 1, Alice is Dead 2 and Alice is Dead 3.
As you probably would have guessed from the title, the game is a darker version of the famous Alice in Wonderland.

The difficulty of the game is reasonable in my opinion; most of the puzzles or situations quite easy to figure out, although the tough ones are a bit frustrating at times for me but that may be due to my impatience.
I personally found there to be not enough character background information, which is disappointing, because that's what I usually look for.
However, I suppose that the lack of information helps at creating the mysterious feel the game has.
It's basically the kind of game which has many questions, and the answers are your interpretation of the game.
I also find the ending too abrupt.
I do wish that the game would have more chapters, but regardless, the ending was unexpected due to how sudden it was.

With that said, what made me like this game lots is the concept, the art and the song in the third part of the game.



I was really reluctant to play the game properly as I kept lingering at the area where this song was played.
They do provide a link to download the song, which I am immensely pleased about.
The other songs used in the game are also interesting to listen to, and the songs make the game much more creepy when playing.
As for the concept, well, I am interested in the different portrayals of Alice in Wonderland, so this game was enjoyable.
It was interesting to discover how the relationship between the characters have been made into.
I think that the art is suited for the game, although it was very easy to spot the objects which are necessary.
That is both a good and a bad thing, because although it made it easier to play (especially since I've refused to continue games simply because it was too frustrating to continue due to the art), I felt that it was a little too easy.

Anyway, I'm not going to rank this game.
I don't think I'll give rankings to any games I recommend (Yes, that's a hint that there's more of these to come.), because I don't think I'm qualified to do so.

Watched it twice already; Insidious as well.
Watched X-Men the second time with my dad (He doesn't know I'd already watched it with Shawn, but not complaining HEE), and Insidious together with Mirai, Elrin, Feli and Haru.
Had fun watching the girls in the rows in front scream during Insidious hurhurhur...
Also, watching Insidious made me a man.
By the end of the show, I was having an arm each around Feli and Elrin, since I was sitting in between Feli and Elrin, and already know when's the scary parts.
Had fun playing pool with Elrin and Feli hurhurblueballhurhurhur and got to show them my flying ball...

I really miss all the times when I could just sit and be with my friends...
Not exaggerating, but those moments of just being with friends or family, chatting about just about anything, those are really precious moments to me.

So I went to furu's house today.
And as usual we played FF13.
Wooooooooooooooo it was awesomely tiring and stressful, but SUPER FUN.

As you already know or have guessed, I am not a gamer.
I am really horrible at them.
Which is why although Shawn Shawn, furu, WS and I spent about SIX HOURS trying to defeat Vanille's summon, I am quite happy.

For some reason, everyone seemed to be lazy to play PS3 today, so I ended up playing (and dying several times).
Then I reached the part where Vanille becomes emo, and thus fights her summon alongside Fang.
Vanille and Fang were too weak, and consequently their HP was kind of low.
And Vanille's summon was strong, in the sense that he (I shall assume that it's a 'he') can kill either Fang or Vanille in one round, and obviously if one character dies, it's easy to assume its game over.
And Fang can't heal (cause we set her that way).
And there's a three minute time limit.

We tried, went for lunch, tried again, gave up and played other stuff, tried again, went for dinner...
And then, in the last few moments before I was planning to go home, I tried again.
AND I FINALLY DEFEATED THE SUMMON!!!!

Also, only I can be this happy after defeating Vanille's summon, cause I typically fail at gaming.
Plants vs Zombies does not count, since my five year old cousin can play that too.
I really can't tell you how many times we tried (and died) at that summon, but furu calculated, and it took me about two minutes for one attempt.
So rough calculation...
6 hours = 30 x 6 = 180 times
......

...Okay, we obviously didn't try that many times.
It's just a rough calculation.

So yes, it was fun.

Drinking iced bubble tea on a rainy day in the Web is obviously one of the more ideal methods of freezing your limbs off.

Can't really comment on the event itself, since I was part of the committee, so I'll be telling it as my own experience.

If Feli, myst, Jac, ML, Shukri, Shawn, Jun, Wani, Aster and others weren't there, I'd probably have destroyed something.
Yas couldn't make it due to personal issues.

Went to Feli's house first since I was following her to TAF.
As a committee member, I was asked to reach at 8am, but like I had already told them, it was quite impossible since I was busy till after 9am, and Feli's friend, who was to drive us there, came at around 10am.
At first, since I reached Feli's house at 10, we thought that there'd be enough time for me to wear my contact lens, but my overly sensitive eyeballs took me more than ten minutes, so even after Feli's friend had reached, she had to wait for us.

Thank you for driving us around that day, and sorry for having to be dragged around selfishly.

Then when it neared 11am, calls and SMSes started spamming in.
Basically, they're all 'WHERE ARE YOU!?'.

Apparently the committee needed me there, but some friends called to see when I was reaching.
Also, since I was lending one of my costumes to a friend who'd be in the cosplay cafe, and NO ONE IN THE COMMITTEE KNOWS HOW TO WEAR A WIG, IT SEEMS, so I was a bit panicked.
Thanks to myst who helped with the wig in the end.
Thank you too ML, for helping to keep the stuff and passing it to them, and sorry for having you to wait so long for me to reach college.

Upon reaching, I was asked to deal with the cosplayers (I'm in the cosplay department for TAF), since it was supposedly a HAVOC (purposefully in bold, capitals and enlarged).
But when I asked around to see who needed my help, no one responded.
=.=
So, I did my best to do some explaining to another committee member, then I went to change to my Rin cosplay.
Oh, speaking of which, I finally completed my Rin costume.
*stands firmly in place with arms wide open and wait for bunz to attack mercilessly
But since I reached college after 11, the cosplay competition started at 12 and I can't get myself in costume within half an hour, the cosplay competition had to be postponed, also due to some other conflicts and misunderstandings.
Oh, Feli, her friend and I had to be the judges.

Preliminary round went quite alright, but the finals was a nightmare.
Before the finals could be held, we were already behind time, so suddenly the sound system, equipment, everything, had to be shifted away to prepare for the Matsuri event.
=.=
It was after a while that they managed to arrange for the sound system to remain in the hall for another hour, but by then, most of the crowd was gone.
In the end, the finals had to be cut down as well.
There was actually four parts planned out in the very beginning, but only two could be carried out.
It was also quite frustrating, since I had tried my best in explaining how the finals would be run to several people, but when it was actually happening, the contestants were not briefed beforehand, and in the end, I had to explain to them, and it wasn't fair to the first contestant who had already went, and wasn't given proper instructions.
Basically, it was the cosplay competition which was the most stressful, and for me it was a horrible failure.

That aside, that day was quite okay.
Feli was extremely popular.
Hordes of photographers went after her, and in the cosplay competition, a contestant kept hitting on her.
Why am I not surprised, though.

Mm, to put it short and sweet, it was fun hanging out with my friends after not meeting for so long, but the event was stressing.
Not much comments on the Matsuri event, since I was there for a brief moment only, but it seemed pretty alright.
Oh, and as you can see, no pictures, since it was too hectic for me to take any.
All the pics in my camera was taken by ML, and there are not many, most of it being on the cosplay preliminaries and figurines.

It's not that the people I lend to doesn't appreciate it, it's just that that sometimes people, especially those who have no experience in managing the stuff, don't understand what it's like to maintain the wig and costume.
Sure, they'd say 'thank you' and mean it, but they probably don't understand what it's like to take care of the wig, groom it, wash it, style it, make the props, care for the costumes, et cetera.
They know that the costume isn't cheap, but that's the end about it for them.
Cosplaying isn't about being in a costume.

Life at college (when you have an insane bunch of friends).

Today my college had a carnival~
It was really interesting.

THEY SOLD TORTOISES AND HAMSTERS.
Was really tempted to buy a tortoise or two, but decided that it wasn't worth it since a tortoise usually costs about $7, but they were selling it for $15 each, two for $24.
And if anything was wrong with the tortoise, I wouldn't be able to exchange it.

Kheng, Yas, ML and I went into two haunted houses.
It was really funny.
For the first one, they had a few people on the floor, crawling or reaching out to grab the customers.
Instead of being scared, I ended up watching out so that I wouldn't accidentally step on them.
Then as our 'guide', one of them wore a mask, shone a torchlight at his/her face and walked backwards for us to follow.
I didn't notice him/her and when I did (the torchlight was faint), I went 'Oh! There's someone there! :D'.
Then I saw another person somewhere above us.
'Oh! There's someone up there too! :D'
Then there was this scene where a surgeon was operating on a patient.
When I walked past, the patient jerked her hand towards me, grabbing my leg.
Me: Oh, sorry. >: *takes hand off*
As for Yas...
Yas: *feels someone hitting her back pocket* My wallet!! D8

Then for the second one, it was totally dark, so we held on to each other.
Kheng went first, then ML, me and Yas at the back.
IT WAS TOO DARK!
AND THERE WAS DEAD ENDS!!!

Kheng: OH NO, DEAD END! REVERSE! REVERSE!
And they sprayed a bit of water on us...
Yas: Stop spitting at me!
Then we met another dead end, so when we turned around, I ended up at the back of the line.
I felt a hand on my shoulder.
Thinking it was Yas, I reached out to grab it.
Me: Eh? Feels weird. '.' *squeezes hand*
xxx: *squeezes back*
Me: *hears Yas' voice somewhere in front* Oh, sorry. Wrong hand. *takes the person's hand off my shoulder*
After a while...
xxx: *SUDDEN DEATH GRAB*
Me: Oh. *picks death grab away from my arm*

It's not to say that the houses weren't good.
They had quite good reviews.
It was just that my group was too busy laughing our heads off throughout the entire two trips to be scared.

Yas and I joined this competition where we competed on who can eat a slice of watermelon the fastest.
We joined seperately.
Yas: *attempts breaking the watermelon slice into two*
Me: Watermelon FLYYYYYYYYYYY!!! :D
Yas: *presses too hard and one half of the slice flies to the ground*
Because of that, she was given a new slice, but time was still running.
I managed to finish eating my slice faster than my opponent~

Yesterday, we watched a drama.
...I have come to the conclusion that doing anything with this bunch would result in laughs.
The drama was alright, and the acting was quite good, but I feel that there are some unneccessary scenes, and there was not much of a conclusion.

And after that while waiting for our transportation home, we played Pepsi Cola.

It's where the players make a ring, take a jump back, and then by random, a person is chosen to start first.
The aim of the game is to step on or touch another player's foot by using only one step/jump, in a clockwise or anti clockwise direction.
ML was wearing killer heels.
Then after that, we played Ice and Fire, standing still version.
One player is selected as 'Ice', and when 'Ice' touches another player, that player would have to freeze, and can only move when a third player touches the frozen player.
...Thing is, when you play Ice and Fire standing still version, and the players are less than half a meter within each other, it usually ends up with a stalemate and useless attempts of winning the game.


Then there's moot court!

There are two groups.
ML's group was all serious, but mine was really funny.
Even my teacher was laughing at the back of the class most of the time for my group.
(Doesn't know whether that's a good or a bad thing.)
Tomorrow's my turn to act.

Oh, and something interesting happened today.
English class was originally at Classroom A, but because that classroom was supposedly going to be used for an exam (in the end it wasn't), my class had to move to Classroom B.
ML and Yas had went to the bathroom before my English teacher came, so I decided to wait for them, then go to Classroom B because I was too lazy to shift everyone's bags and I think they didn't bring their handphones with them.
As they got distracted by Kheng (his classes had ended for the day) at the other end of the corridor (Classroom A is right at the end of a corridor), I decided to go up to them.
After Kheng left, we got back to get our stuff.
The lights were switched off already at that time.
Yas was a little slower at gathering her stuff.
Yas: Hey, don't close the door. D:
Doing what good friends would do, ML and I went out the classroom and closed the door, with ML holding onto the doorknob from the outside to prevent Yas from coming out.
There are two doors for the classroom, one right at the back of the class and another right at the front, far apart since the room is big.
Me: I guess I should go guard the other door. >: *goes to the front door to grip on the doorknob* On each door, there is a small window where you can look in, but as the lights were off in the room, I couldn't see a thing through the window.
Me: *feels the doorknob being pulled* Hey, Yas is here.
ML: ...No, she's here. I can see her face through the window.
Me: *looks at the front door while feeling the doorknob being pulled again* Eh? *looks at ML's side as she opens her door to let Yas out*
Us: ......
We ran to Classroom B.
